From the moment we stepped into the ThistleDown House to the moment we left, our experience was amazing. We had the queen bedroom room with out own fireplace, is was beautiful. Having a glass of wine in the winter garden room was such a relaxing experience. Our proprietors Liz and Rex were awesome. From a 3 course morning breakfast that was to die for, to the recommendations and transportation ways for site seeing, they were there for us. We would stay no other place when visiting Vancouver again, and we will.
Growing up in Seattle, I’ve visited Vancouver a couple dozen times in my life, always staying at a downtown hotel. Looking for a change of pace to celebrate my 50th birthday, I found ThistleDown House and decided to book a couple nights for my wife and I. As my title says, no more Vancouver hotels for me. To say we felt like guests in the home of old friends is an understatement. Rex, Ruth and Liz were beyond amazing. From warm morning and evening conversations to three-course locally grown/harvested breakfasts to restaurant and shopping recommendations, the three days and two nights were magical. We’ll be back again and again….we’ve found our Vancouver home away from home.
